Gallery Closing

Dear Seattle ArtREsource consignors, collectors and friends,

In 2002, Greg Kucera and Larry Yocom bought the Emerald City Building with real estate partners who own Decode Books. The building housed Gallery Frames on the ground floor and Decode on the third. In summer 2006, we decided to open ArtREsource, a business solely devoted to secondary market sales, on the second floor.

We got off to a great start with the help of Jena Scott, our founding director. Jena shepherded the business through the downturn of 2009-2010 and built it up through the next several years. When she moved to London last year, we hired Jeffery Kuiper (previously with Davidson Galleries) to be the director.

Last December brought many changes. The building was sold, Larry retired from Gallery Frames and sold Gallery Frames to Dan Carrillo, the previous manager of the frameshop. (Gallery Frames will relocate to 311 3rd Ave South.)

We have also, with some reluctance, decided to close ArtREsource gallery. March 28 will be our last day for ArtREsource. We will resume occasional, premium quality resale consignments at Greg Kucera Gallery.

Thank you for a wonderful eight years. We hope to see you in our final weeks, and to aid you in collecting excellent artworks at favorable prices.
